Endure
August 10, 2010,
Enigma Beach, Florida
Just After Midnight
When I appeared at her side, Melissa was lying on the thick blue cover that I had got for her recently with the sandy beach underneath.
Nearby, the thrashing surf made its presence known.
For a few moments I just stood there staring at her sorrowful face with tears coming down.
It had been some time I suppose, I don't know how long, since I had
passed my human life, and its a wonder that I can remember that.
As I glanced up at the bright midnight stars, and then down upon her once again I
reminded myself
of why I was here--to tell her to endure and live the rest of her life
as happy as she can. I soon realiized what this meant-- to make us both at peace.
As I smiled at her, she opened her eyes as if she felt my presence like
many times before.
She rose, shocked and surprised, and could not speak only to cry.
I allowed her to see me for one last time.
She touched me and could not believe that she could feel my
hand.
She trembled and I explained to her everything that early morning on her
birthday before I, Michael, faded into her future.
