A Perfect Dream in Dark of Night

Dark and light,
Wrong and right,
Meek and might
Joy in spite,
Short with height,
Dim yet bright,
Oh, what a sight.
Oh! What a sight.
Everything and nothing
One and the same,
Again and again
Lame cameleons change.
How very strange.
Mirrored in the soul.
Only a part of the whole,
Fates dice a roll.
The deep burrowing mole,
In search of some goal,
An abstarct such as freedom.
Our hallowed Kingdom
Precious though cheap
Just tossed in a heap
Not cared for, for keeps.
But spent and sold
How old, how cold
Who knows, who knows?
Does it show?
What do I know,
But age a despair
No life, no flair?
I look for the stair,
Up for the eternal sleep
That's all now I'll keep
Sacred and true.
A solid dream of rest
Perhaps it's best.
To rest, no. No jest.
Just a vision of peace.
A perfect dream in dark of night.
