He's a nothing to lose poet
He sits there smoking, sometimes drunk
Listening to Miles, Mingus and Monk
Scrawling his poems on crinkled pages
He's been a poet for ages and ages
He hasn't a laptop, phone or typewriter,
so scrawls his verse with a yellow highlighter
He's in publications that are so hard to find
Seek them out, they might blow your mind!

Recognition
Between 2005 and 2008, I used to host monthly events, 'Poets Corner @ Pages Cafe' in the Perth State Library (Western Australia). More than 80 poets presented or sometimes hosted my gatherings over those years so many poets brought to mind with your light touch.
Congratulations on the Cherries too!
