sunlight, cold and bright

and a crisp stab of frost

On the skin

 

lacey ice dusts the grass

crawls through spider web

to leaf and branch

and wilted flower

 

steam cloud breath

rises into the light

swirls and drifts

across the ground

a haze of warmth

fighting for a place

 

sun breaks through

in pretence

of flame and fire

forgotten

 

So winter creeps on

Unimpeded

Into the night

These days we have been having very strange weather too here in Pretoria and SA. Clouds build, rain, sun breaks through clouds again carries on like that all day. A few times cycling. Sometimes even some ice-rain. Cold, warm, can't make it's mind up.

-4 here today, with a wind-chill that feels like -11... and still I feel lucky I'm not on the prairies now! Very seasonal imagery. I can feel it and see it.
