To Be There Where You are
By Paul McCann
Were I the wind I would rush through the streets and over the hills to be at your door where I would blow it open and brush through your hair and swirl all around you like a tornado and lift you up into the sky .
Were I the rain I would fall softly on your face and embrace your cheeks and lips and wash away the things that hurt you and then become one in all the tears that you cry .
Were I the ground underneath your feet I would listen to you as you walk through life and I would bring you flowers of many colours upon the paths you walk my love .
Were I the sky I would cover you with an endless canvas of clouds and sunshine and bring you the moon and the stars to fill your darkness with light that shines from above .
Were I a bird that could fly I would rest outside your window and sing you love songs as you wake and I would build a nest by your door where I could see you all the time .
Were I the silence around you there would I be at peace with you and I’d hold you near and hear you as you breathe and listen to your heart beat and feel that you are mine .
Were I the ocean that you swim I would carry you across the seven seas and give you all the sunken treasures that are in my keep where no one has ever been .
Were I all these things I would still want to be closer to you in an unspoken way without you knowing and I’d share my love secretly if you know what I mean .
