The Beast From Bonkerville Hills

Since the beginning when man walked on the planet there has always been hunters who kill to survive . There have always been animals for man to hunt and even in the animal kingdom there same process has been going on . The hunters and the prey.

The world where we live in is a beautiful place with oceans and forests with all kinds of sea life and  wild and tame beasts that have provided humans with food and clothing , soap and other byproducts that we have benefitted from .

There are professional hunters and fishermen who make a living from their skilled lifestyle and then there are others who do it as a hobby or just for fun like the lads from Bonkerville who meet up every Friday for their weekly pig hunt , During their outdoor adventures were they set traps and chased after wild pigs at night hunting them down with bright spotlights mounted on their vehicle’s firing at will from their    military rifles , screaming and shouting as they went on their wild shooting spree

The boys from Bonkerville never bothered collecting their kills they usually just left them where they had been slayed . It was just a game to them .

What the boys from Bonkerville never realised was that on some occasions after their hunting adventures some of those wild pigs had survived and in their recovery process had begun to get stronger and as time passed they had even produced  mutated offspring who were now mutating with the result of a hideous looking wild beast that had the resemblance of a huge wild pig . The skin of the beast was like an armour-plated tank; it had developed razor sharp tusks and dangerous horns on its head .  The claws on its feet could rip tree trunks open . It’s sense of smell was able to detect a human miles away and its hearing was the same . The beast had night vision and a deep gargling scream so  horrendous it struck fear into all of the beasts around the Bonkerville Hills  . This mutated wild pig was now a very deadly to man and lay in its den ready to strike and unleash a fury of anger on all those who had been slaughtering wild pigs in the past . The beast had a poisonous blood and a snapping jaw that could break bones in two .

As the boys from Bonkerville were planning another weekend of hunting they were unaware of what was waiting for them .  

It was Friday afternoon and the boys gathered underneath the blue sky of Bonkerville for a few beers at a picnic area near to the hills were they would be going hunting  . They were all looking forward to their wild weekend .

Suddenly they heard this blood chilling scream in the distance . They all looked at each other and said ,.

“Did you hear that ?”

Their laughing stopped and the look on their faces seemed serious , they tried to pretend that nothing had happened , suddenly a wind rushed down from the hills and carried with it a stench . Soon after a strange mist appeared from nowhere and again that ghastly scream was heard from the hills .

None of the boys wanted to admit they were a little frightened . They all drank a few more beers and put on a brave face before heading off to the hills .

When they arrived, the mist had gone and the wind died down . They made came and lit a campfire . The night was on its way and again the scream was heard ,

Jim was a bit of a joker and went over to a nearby tree and hung himself upside down from one of the branches making some funny noises like a monkey .

All the boys began laughing and suddenly hideous beast sprung upon him breaking him in two in its jaws . They boys watched helplessly and their friend was devoured right in front of their eyes .

They were all screaming in fear and one of the boys fired a dozed rounds from his rifle that failed to penetrate under its skin .’

In a few moments the beast disappeared leaving the boys in shock and frightened .

Oral the motor mechanic looked at all the boys and said ,

“See y’all later . I’m out of here “

He ran to his pickup truck and drove off at speed  but shortly afterwards they all heard the sound of his screaming in the distance and then nothing , just a silence that clung to the night like the edge of a knife to their throats .

Now and then the silence was shattered by a harsh deep gurgling cry followed by a high-pitched shrieking scream . It chilled them to the bone .

All the boys were terrified and nobody had any plan of what they were going to do .

In shock they all stood there in a circle , frightened and waiting for someone to sat something  .

Tom, who was a plumber, spoke .

“I think we should dig a trench in a large circle around our campsite and keep watch for that thing to return “

“ Not a good idea Tom , that trench will end up being our graves”.

Said  Dazzle “

Tom replied ,

“Well have you a better idea ?”

Dazzle replied

 “ I have some grenades we can use , if that monster returns, we can all throw the grenades before it gets close >’“Tom.

Tom just sneered and said ,

“Dazzle  , Oral fired off a few rounds from his AR-15 . They had no effect on that monster . You’re wasting your time throwing grenades at it . You’ll be mincemeat before you even pull the pin .“

Jordan offered a solution. 

“I think we should all try to keep cool and separate . Let’s all try to make our way back to town . Theres a chance that one of us will survive to warn people about this thing :”

The hideous beast reappeared again and took Jordan in its jaws and dragged him slowly away . All the boys fired shots from their rifles nut not one of the bullets made an impact of the monster .

Jordans screaming eventually was heard no more .

They boys all realised the last words Jordan had said were probably the best solution . One of them just might survive if they all went separate ways back down into town . So, they all said a long goodbye to each other like it would be the last time they would see each other and went different ways back down from the hills.

To their surprise , they all made it back into town . But they were the only ones around . No one like was there . All the shops were empty . There were  homes and streets were like a ghost town . Then they heard the blood curdling cry that echoed all around them and one by they were all killed by the beast who chased each one them down  . They were all hunted and killed with no remains left to be seen .

A cold wind blew through the town and a dark mist fell down .

The End
