Belfast Bonesy
By Paul McCann
Bonesy was a Belfast boy he went in boots and all .
He headed one two’s at practice up against the wall .
He dribbled and at the same time threw a body swerve ,
he knew how to have a dig and make that football curve .
if you asked him for a square ball he would send it there ,
he was good with both feet and twice as good in the air .
He had a little problem sometimes a bit erratic ,
because Bonesy was another football fanatic .
Bonesy went on loan and from team to team he did go, ,
he knocked the ball about with some clout , rain hail, or snow .
He took sick and the Doctor said, there’s no cure you know ,
when you’re football mad its best to show them what you know .
So he back flicked and scissor kicked and threw dummies too,
he sent over crosses , as Belfast boys often do .
He put up walls outside the box , so they couldn’t score
and he run rings around them like a stormer on the shore .
Bonesy was that someone ,you could always depend on
there he’d be suddenly and the danger would be gone.
He was the linchpin that kept everything running smooth .
He’d something to prove Bonesy was always on the move .
Stay with him Bonesy let him know you’re there , mark him up ,
And keep them out , Knock it in and win the Dump Hill cup .
