Distant Love

There used to be a little love

but somehow it ended up  lost

In a place where no one cared

and all the wires got crossed ,

leaving us with just a distant love ,

such a distant love .

 

No one ever bothered to ask permission

to break my heart in two

and now there is a distant love

that exists between me and you ,

leaving us with just a distant love ,

such a distant love .

 

Distant love it’s a long way to go

when the feeling is gone

and things are going wrong

and we don’t know what to do  .

 

We’ve got to be strong

and try to carry on to bring back

the love that we knew .

Baby me and you my distant love.

 

It’s a mixed up war of words

and then there is nothing left to say..

In the silence of a distant love,

we live to fight another day .

 

If ever we should walk away

to leave it all locked up in chains,

just like prisoners of a war that no one ever wins,

a distant love remains .

leaving us just a distant love ,

oh such a distant love .

 

Distant love it’s a long way to go

We’ve got to be strong and try to carry on
