The Face At The Window
By Paul McCann
Opposite our house
there was a woman who sat at the window all day.
I would always see her everyday
when I went out the street to play,
Sometimes I wondered
If she had a pair of rosary beads in her hand .
and was she muttering out words
that only God Himself could understand .
She sat there all day and for everyone who passed by
did she say hello .
Did her daughter mind that she sat there
all day alone with her face aglow ,
at the window nodding her head
and smiling at angels by her side.
Then as the curtains closed and night fell
The face at the window went to hide .
I’m sure God whispered to her as she slept
and said
"I am always with thee "
But everyday , she just sat there
at the window looking out to see..

At least she was content, and
At least she was content, and glad for a view on the world and things happening to watch. It must be very lonely sitting indoors on your own a lot. I think my mother-in-law appreciated having people around her to watch their activity when she went into a very happy Home, as she could no longer read much. Rhiannon
