Jack’s Working Undercover
by Paul McCann
Jack works for the secret service and he has to get information from people without them ever knowing .
He takes risks without getting nervous and is sent on missions to places and he never knows
where he’s going .
He changes his appearance just like a chameleon disappearing into the oblivious background .
He breaks into people’s rooms
leaving no trace behind , making no sound , looking for things that can never be found .
They have tried to bug his telephone , but he speaks in a code that can’t be understood , deciphered or broken .
Sometimes he looks delirious and other times serious , he plays mind games with those who think that he’s joking .
He’s always looking for clues ,
bunking the queues , sticking his neck out and making himself seen in those unknown places .
Every where he goes nobody really knows who he is because he’s the man with so many unsolved cases .
In reality Jack is a resident
in a dementia unit and wanders everyday on his own .
Maybe in his own mind he is acting out another role as an undercover agent working alone .
