The Life We Knew

Children came out on the street

singing and skipping to the beat

and on a hillside a lady stood

with her hair tucked up inside a hood looking out for love .

Summer came and the sky was blue

and in the forest wild flowers grew

with a drop of golden sunlight there

and the silver rain fell everywhere from up above  .

Dreams came and took us away

and we slept until the light of day,

oh how easy we can forget

all the colours of the dreams we kept before we ever  grew   .

So we came to find our way,

say how’s its going today ,

do you remember how it  used to be

when we were young and so happy with the life we knew .
