Magnificent Milly And Her Magic Tricycle

Chapter Five 

 

Time Loops And Memory Loss

 

Milly was starting to love her new life and the gift she had . She accepted her mission in life and was eager to keep going . The talking pebbles called out to her,

.

“Some new changes have happened to make things easier for you Milly”

:”New changes”

Milly asked and the pebbles said ,

 

“Well changes for the better Milly because now we have established the connection link where we can communicate with you about the missions that you have been  scheduled to carry out and your magic tricycle has now got a supernatural intellectual guidance system that will make your coming and going much more organized . A little more bizarre however but that’s the way we will do things from now on  “

Milly seemed excited about the new changes and said ,

 

“So, you will tell me where I have to go each day and program my tricycle to get there and back home ?”

The talking pebbles replied .

‘Well, that’s right and as well as your missions being more organized you will now be  aware of what you have to do .and your journey will be pre-programmed for you in advance to bring you where you have to go and return you back home again ”

 

So your first mission will be later in the afternoon to help an old man who can’t move on .,l He keeps reliving an event that happened a long time again ago and after that your second mission is  to help a woman with her memory loss  in an old folks home Have a good day Milly , You tricycle will ring a bell when it’s time to leave .Thanks a lot for everything .“

“Awesome action pebbles “

Milly said .

Laten in the day the tricycle started ringing a bell and Milly knew it was time to get on her way . She got on her magic tricycle and it was warped into another place and time ,

Milly got off her tricycle and it was parked outside a pub in the late afternoon .

The shops had closed. Most people had finished work for the day and the night lay ahead . For many they were going home to their families and loved ones but for some  they had no one to go home to ended up at some bar , there were lots of sad stories to tell and Milly was there to listen and help with the gifts she had . She went to the dockers pub  like she was told and took a seat in the corner , watching and listening with a bowl of soup she had ordered at the bar ..

A lonely figure called out from  

“Bartender give me another drop of that poison in a large glass .“

The bartender replied

“No problem “

and poured some ginger spirit from a bottle into a crystal glass and brought it over to the customer .

“What’s the damage ?”

The customer asked and the barman replied ..

“That’s your first drink here tonight, Ron , so it’s on the house .“

 

“ Well, you know , that’s very kind of you . Have I been here before :

The customer asked and the barman said .

“Once or twice Ron  “

The old man took off his cap and looked up into the eyes of the barman .

“Do you know my face ? “ 

The barman .

“I’ve known you most of my life but that’s another story .”

With a kind smile the barman left the customer to finish his drink .

Milly went over to the bar and ordered a glass of wine and asked the barman about the old man sitting there alone .

The bar man said , 

“Twenty years ago, there was a fight in this bar , that night Ron had planned to propose to Margaret his childhood sweetheart . She walked in at the wrong moment to the wrong place ; she was stick there in between the two men who were fighting and was accidently killed with a knife . Poor Ron was devastated . The doctors have said that he has blocked that memory from his mind and he’s been coming here every night since  waiting for Margaret to come . Some specialists reckon that the  trauma was so severe that his brain had shut it out from his memory .

Now Ron comes every night waiting for Margaret to show up for his date , He hasn’t moved on and everyone who knows him , he cannot recognise . The brain had dissociated anyone who he knew when Margaret was around .

He usually drinks until he can’t stand and he gets a regular home . Ron doesn’t have a clue about the past or the present . He’s stuck in a time warp because of the tragedy that happened that night “

Milly could feel the sorrow that was in Ron’s heart and wanted to go over and help him . The hurt was almost too much for Milly to bear .

“Can you pour me another drink for him .“

The bartender did as she asked and Milly brough over the whiskey glass to Ron .and put one arm around him back .

“Here’s the drink you ordered Ron “. .

 Before he had time to drink it, he started laughing . The barman in shock looked oven and couldn’t believe what was happening . Tears of joy were running down Rons face and when the barman went over, he tapped Ron on the should and he himself started to laugh  . Milly knew that within the gift of laughter a healing would come to restore the lives of all who had been damaged .

Milly left the bar and got back on her tricycle that took her across the bridge to a nursing home where it came to rest . At the front door of the old folks home there were two people standing there crying ,. Milly asked if there were ok and they explained to that they had just left their mother who had dementia into care and were feeling sad about having to do that .

Milly asked for their mothers name and they said ,

“Mum likes to be called Dot but her real name is Dorothy Brewster ,

When Milly gave them both a hug, they both started laughing and at the same time they were getting a healing .  They both walked away laughing and Milly went into the nursing home and mentioned she weas a good friend of Dorothy and the family and asked if she could have a quick visit . The staff at the nursing home were more than happy to have family and friends especially those who had just been admitted because it helped them to get settled in and Milly was brought to the room where Dorothy was and immediately Milly went and gave Dorothy a hug and said .

“You’ll be ok now Dot . Memory loss can become a memory found “

Dorothy suddenly burst out laughing and Milly left the nursing home shortly after .

 

One of the nurses thought there was a problem and went in to comfort Dorothy in her room and as Milly walked out the front door she could hear several people laughing uncontrollably in the facility .Milly got back on her tricycle that brought her home again
