Magnificent Milly And Her Magic Tricycle

Chapter  Six

 

Milly And The Shelter  

 

Milly had been living alone in her little house on the mountain where rainbows fell from the sky  almost everyday . Her parents had spent many years making the home self-sufficient and it was Milly’s little piece of paradise . She never had to worry about paying bills because the home had solar power and wind assisted turbine power as well . She never had any problems with food because there were fruit trees and vegetables that grew in outside garden beds as well as the indoor greenhouse .

There was several water storage tanks and a small farm and fish nursery .

While it was difficult to manage on her own Milly had a regular routine each day to get things done .

The escape time on her magic tricycle kept her sane and happy . She loved getting away to see different places on her tricycle .

Her best and only companion in life were the talking pebbles . They told her stories and played music as well as helping her with any questions she had .

The pebbles were also her source of information that made her mission on earth much easier . Whenever she was overtired, the pebbles created a recharging therapy and she would always have the energy to do  extraordinary things .

In her busy life she always made time for singing and dancing . It made her happy and gave her a way to express herself in a positive way .

The talking pebbles always let her know when she was required to go on another mission to help someone .

It was often a relief when she was given another mission so when the call came, she was eager to get on her magic tricycle.

Milly was getting ready for another day when the call came . The magic pebbles began to beep and invited her to listen to the information being sent about her mission and they began to give her the instructions.

“This time the course of action you’ll be sent on involves feeling the hurt and  healing those who are homeless and hungry . They have nothing to be happy about in their lives so you are going to change that by sharing your gift with them .At this time of the year its winter and on the streets where you are going  it will be cold and everyone will be hungry as well . You tricycle will bring you to an abandoned bul During the recession many people lost their jobs and then in turn they lost their building that will become a home for the homeless . In that building there will be a generator for electricity and some mattress on the floors in various rooms .

Once everyone that you meet is given shelter and food your mission will be finished .

Go now and bring your happiness and joy to the place where your tricycle will bring you “

Milly immediately went outside and got into her tricycle . She made her way down the path to the rainbow road and the shimmering light of a rainbow fell to the ground and Milly was gone in a flash . After the journey was over, she was left outside a large door on the pavement of a quiet city street where she went inside the building and had a look around . She discovered there were three levels to the building , a basement , ground floor and second floor . It looked like at one time it may have been a convalescent home or a hospice but now it was going to be a home for the homeless .There was already a generator left there on the ground floor ready for use There was a large container of fuel as well . Mily managed to get it started .

She checked the rest of the building and was glad to find a kitchen that could still be used . Water could be accessed from outside the building. The kitchen had pots and pans and some plates and cutlery were also in the cupboards . .

This was more than she ever expected . Many of the rooms on different levels had mattresses there on the floor . All that was left to do now was to go out  to the streets and look for the new tenants ..

She put her magic tricycle safely away for another day and then went out to the streets to look for the hungry and homeless .

After a while wandering around she came to an alleyway where some of the young street breed were hanging out , trying to stay out of the cold .

Most of them were about 20 years old  .

They looked sad , hungry and cold .

First thing Milly had to do was to gain their trust because for sure they had already been a prey for some of the predators around the city who often zeroed in on people like them who were out on the street . As she approached them , she sent out happy thought and said ,

“I’ve been homeless for a while but now today I’ve found an old building that is the  perfect place to squat , the owner has given permission to use the building . “

Everyone there began to giggle and soon tears of joy were rolling down their faces ,

It obviously was the best news they had heard in a very long time .

“You’ve got to be kidding , so where is this place ?”

‘Follow me and I’ll show you , there’s lots of room so if you know any other people who need shelter just go and bring them “

All of the young runaways followed Milly back to the building and they were so happy and relieved , Masny of them sang and danced . Others laughed and screamed with delight .

One of the girls gave Milly a big hug and as soon as she did that she started laughing aloud . It was contagious then and they all began to laugh . Eventually they went out to bring others back to the shelter , it was almost like Christmas had come for them .

During the next few days Milly had listen to many of the sad stories that explained why the young ones had run away from their homes . At least now they had found each other and now a place where they could be sheltered and kept safe .

A committee was formed and they had great ideas on how to get food and other essential things for the shelter ..

A TV network heard about the homeless shelter and came to do a documentary which was seen by millions during primetime viewing , soon donations started coming in to provide financial help for all those in the shelter .

Now that the residents were off the street and getting regular food Milly knew her mission was over and it was time for her to leave , She left a note wishing all the residents happiness and joy for the future and then she went to get her magic tricycle in the place where she had put it away . She went out the back door of the old building and got back in and suddenly a sunbeam fell to the ground right in front of her and in that moment, she was taken up  . In a short time, she was back again in the rainbow road that brough her to her home ,

 

  Happy to be back again she went inside and the talking pebbles began playing a fanfare and congratulated her on a  successful mission .
