I’m leaving on the midnight train ,

To get back and be with you again ,

I’m stepping on board the train

And I’m going to be with you again .

I’ve got a one way ticket

that’s taking me home on the midnight train

big wheels are  turning and churning down the track

guess I’m coming home again .

I’m longing to hold you again

I feel so lonely on the midnight train

but knowing that you’ll be showing for me ,

This train is taking me home ,

on a one way ticket

I’m coming  home on the midnight train

I’m coning big wheels are  turning and churning down the track

guess I’m rolling home again on the midnight train .

Diesel line is clicking away on time

rolling home in the morning light

a couple of miles down the line

going back to my home town again.
