Mr Kite’s Flying High

Mr Kite wants to fly up in the sky so high ,

Above the clouds up to the moon ,

and on and on , to where no space ship

or person has ever gone .

a million miles away 

just a kite in high flight , and everyone will say

Mr Kits’s  out of sight . and they’ll wonder

why did he have to fly so high ,
up in the sky , tell us please

does anyone  know the reason why ?

.. was my favourite song off Sergeant Pepper.  Your comment made me look it up on Wiki and I found out about the circus poster.  Never knew that.

Thanks Turlough . I met this guy who told me about the big Kite Festival that brings  lots of ;kites intro the sky from  participants from India and beyond every January . I know Mr K was probablu there  in the crowd too and Pablo most probaby wouod have had a say as well about the culture,and unity in the sky with the Hendersons as well joining in . A big day for many

Ah yes! Flying kites is a very popular pastime in Asia and the Middle East. Simple but addictive!

Have you read Khaled Hosseini's The Kite Runner, or seen the film?

Reminds me of the archer and the moon cake , another fascinating Story 

with a Strange connection to the sky Turlough , the kite in the hands of the flyer .

Sorry never read the book or saw the film

you mentioned .

This is a lovely poem, Paul. I can picture the kite going up and up into the distance leaving everyone wondering why.  It's very atmospheric.
