The Post COVID Travel Plan

When the strain of COVID has gone away

and we are free to travel once again

Will everything in the world still be the same

or will everything out there have changed .

Will all those statues still be standing there

 in the middle of the village square

and would you come along with me ,

for there’s many  wonderful things we could share .

Getting lost in Austria

and finding the palaces where Mozart once played

or walking around wooden pathways of Lakes

where so many tourists have strayed ,

See the art works in Budapest’s museums

and all the  beauty that’s there .

Venice with its gondolas and canals   

To the magic of San Marco Square .

Discover the  Belem Tower of Lisbon

or St Georges castle upon a  hilltop

make your way to Iceland

where the splendour of Gullfoss waterfalls never stop

Then there’s Athens with the Acropolis

The old churches in Montenegro ,

The unique beauty of Russia , with the Kremlin

and the Red Square in Moscow .

Around the Mediterranean

You’ll see the sparkle of Monte Carlo

With its harbour lights and the casino

 On the streets where the fast cars all go .

 Spain with its architectural wonders

and the picturesque Alps all around France .

It’s easy to fall in love with Paris

with its streets full of charm romance  .  

Wander along the pathways of Prague

 to find nightlife and entertainment there .

ON the outskirts of Europe you’ll find

 the colourful markets of Istanbul  

then escape to see some of Norway

where the scenery there is really cool.

Croatia with its well preserved buildings

will  take you for a step back in time

The Netherlands with its tulips

and Germany with its sweet black forest wine .

There are so many places to visit  

and there’s so many people to meet .

When the day comes and COVID has gone

You’ll find me with Wanderlust at my feet .
