The River

The River

All of a sudden, the water came flooding down the river road .

The water flowed and the torrent of the currant was wild and free

and on it went racing out to the sea .

The muddy waters run underneath the sun

and we all looked on as  It went raging past ,

down the mountain path until it was gone

washed away out to the deep blue  sea  .

The river road runs to the sea

and on it goes ,

into the tide so far and wide

beyond the horizon

to where God only knows

on and on the river flows  .

The river of mud

came in with the flood

from the ocean and  there’s no escape

from the rising seascape.

It’s a disaster there , lasting ever after

for everyone to see .

The river flows on and on forever

out to the sea and there’s a message there

for you and me that’s washed out to the sea  ,

on and on it goes far way for another day

The river road runs to the sea

and on it goes ,
