Say What You Mean
By Paul McCann
Well there was an old woman as sharp as a pin
at 82 years she was young ,
she was quick with the wit and she could cut you in two
with a flick of the edge of her tongue ,
it was a hard old life had made her
the way she turned out to be ,
as wise as the night with a thousand
eyes and there’s nothing she cannot see
You better say what you mean
and mean what you say if you want to talk to her
be aware and take good care
or she’ll kill you with a stare
wait a minute and I’ll tell you what ,
to just remember
She might be just an old woman ,
but don’t think you’re kidding her
If you know what I mean she had heard it before
she had seen it and been there too ,
she had read it and said it and done it al
before you’d time to think it through ,
she had a way about her
but she kept her distance away,
if you could get close to her,
this is what she’d say .
You better say what you mean
and mean what you say if you want to talk to me
be aware and take good care ,
you won’t get one over on me,
wait a minute and I’ll tell you what ,
I’ve got to make you see,
I might be just an old woman ,
but don’t think you’re kidding me
