Sharing Christmas

We woke on Christmas morning
as the snow began to fall .
The sound of tiny feet
went pitter patter up the hall .
All the gifts around the Christmas tree
filled our hearts with pride .
The children built a snowman
and they played a while outside .
The light of Christmas evening
shone inside every room .
The snowman had all melted
at the rising of the moon .
As cold as Christmas is
and as thick as the snow may lie ,
the truth is children grow up fast
but snowmen never cry .
It’s great to see the smiles
and hear the laughter all the same .
We might get old and grey haired
but you’ll not hear us complain .
Lord bless us everyone ,
the old and young ,
the big and small .
Sharing Christmas together
is the greatest gift of all .
