She Left A Picture Of Petals

She walked bare footed on the pathway

over petals of the hydrangea on the ground ,

I never saw her pass me by ,

silently in her bare feet ,

I never heard a sound .

When I went out to look for her

all that I could see were the footprints where she had been .

She scattered petals all over the garden

the prettiest picture I’ve ever seen .
