The Talk Of The Lagan

All over Belfast City there are so many streets there

with lots of short cuts and ways to get around .

There always lot of talk from those who are witty

about life in Belfast City where peace had been found . .

All around the Lagan flow, the autumn winds blow leaves

from the trees to the streets where Belfast people go .

On the toe path there from Shaws Bridge to Ormeau Road

the sun kisses goodnight in the peaceful twilight glow

Long shadows fall as the street lights all come on

in the little streets and terrace houses everywhere.

Dinners on plates all over the city ,

from east to west , north and south ,

meals are being eaten up there .

Days pass and weekends come

inviting some to go out walking

on the toe path around the Lagans flow .

The river never asks which way to go through the City,

there is only one direction it should go.
