End Of The Road

We came to the end of the road last night
But it's been pot holed for the last mile
We both knew a dead-end lay ahead
So let's pit-stop for a while
Too many road works and hazards we'd seen
And the scenery had turned grey
The journey's no longer an exciting drive
So let's call it a day
We can't turn back and find the right turn
As petrol's running low
I can't face the tedium of more roundabouts
So let's say goodbye and go
I wish you well on your next voyage
I hope it's a lighter load
It may seem bleak but there's no return
When you reach the end of the road
