nearer the sea stronger the stream
stronger the stream bolder the dream
closer the dunes, pale the moon gleams
oh loud is the surf great is the joy!

stronger of salt fresher the breeze!
fearless the river faster the flow
closer the beach faster the rush
nearer the sand harder the hush

nearer the great vast, nearer the sea
sweeter the day nearer the deep
greater the waves wilder the waters
brave is the faith undying the hope!

crimson the sunrise bright it is born
lovely the day oh lovely the dawn!
pastel the sky, passion blazing the sun
blue is the heavens brilliant the morn!

Delight in drinking in the view, sound,  and smell of ocean and dawn!

Do you live anywhere near the sea? I think we are about the farthest from sea anywhere in the British Isles here. Rhiannon

Thanks Rhiannon! No, I live far from the sea but I would like to move there (one day!) It is a spiritual thing to me I'm sure you knew by now! Where the roots are ... and the last time I was actually really at the sea was decades ago. I've just been sitting here cooped up like pow or some thing.

South Africa has the most beautiful coastline you could ever wish for and much of it unspoilt. The game reserves too are great tourist attractions, and beautiful mountains, bushveld and more.
