Why?

A question,
a word,
a throwaway line,
just to understand
the place in which we live,
the world in which we exist.

We ask when we don’t see reason,
we ask when something is not clear.
Sometimes we ask
just to annoy
those who we feel deserve it.

We ask because we don’t understand,
We ask to fuel our thirst for knowing,
And now you ask me;
Why?
I can’t tell you.

I don’t know.
