Brandy was a factitious girl that the military invented in the 60’s too accumulate information on their soldiers. They would place personnel adds into military newspapers that were made accessible to the troops. The ads made Brandy sound lonely and desperate for a relationship with a soldier. Vulnerable men of all ages 17-60 fell easy prey to Brandy’s charms. The lonesome soldier would send a letter to her and soon receive a form letter along with a knock out picture of Brandy. Oh so gullible these young, lonely, far from home men were. The more letters that were sent, the more the form letters would come back to the soldier and always with a new picture of Brandy.
I always wondered what they did with the information they received from the troops. In the back of my mind I was hopeful that it was done just for the moral of the troops. Not sure. All that data would sure make for a best selling book for someone. Hmmmmmmm What if these online dating sites have a Brandy?
