I sit before the fire and gaze
Into the flames of yesterdays
The walls melt down and fade away
And with them melts the present day
My youth returns, the old clock chimes
To the tune of different times
I sit in the old armchair and dance
I see a handsome young man glance
I give a smile, childlike and coy,
I still a girl, he still a boy
He asks to dance and I agree
We dance until eternity
The music stops, but I go on
The girl, the boy, the dancing gone
The walls return, the old armchair
I sit before the fire and stare
Into the flames of now and here
The girl and boy both disappeared
But somewhere no-one else can see
They dance until eternity
