Tigress

I watched her every move-captivated.
This creature with unimaginable strength -
as she waded her way through long grasses with hedgehog heads.
She was a beast of elegance and perfection,
Blemished only by small tears on her crisp, glowing face.
Her eyes were deepest topaz, her ears fringed with the softest
ermine,
Her coat of burning amber, singed with black coal.
And her face trimmed with white translucent frosting.
With slothful strides she made her way towards the watering hole,
plunging into its depths-
The cool ripples providing a welcome relief from the un-relenting
heat.
She coasted and sailed her way downstream, the water creatures making
way for her for they dare not impede her path.
I moved closer, she edged away,
Then. To a cry from her cub, she floated her way back, back to her
haven of tranquillity.
