Centre rest clearing the benches are full, hedges are thorny and
taller too. Signs are all spun around dead-ends abound, the privet
blocks off every exit I've found, I've followed the others and they're
all lost too just walking around in this labyrinth zoo, no mirrors or
atlases no long balls of string tied to an opening birds that dont
sing, statues and souvenirs kiddies in prams the rumours of exits are
only a sham with ice cream cones litter-bins cans on the floor I
dreamed of escaping but not anymore, labyrinth in denial with the
cameramen gone no point in disputing that it's all a con, everyone
walking round no shoes on.No shoes on. The youths on the outskirts
still kiss as we pass and the drunkards are smiling and offer a glass,
we smile at the movies that play on the floor I think that I'm mental
but I am not sure, my feet are Russ Abbot sized, I wear a hat and the
dog is mutated so I bought a cat I grew some nice camomile. Tea is a
letter but coffee's a drink I packed up my laundry and lived in a sink
with taps above plug below drips on my head, I'm glad that King Louis
the Sixth is still dead, I walk around backwards and follow the rest
although just mere crawling would seem to be best with the blackberries
strawberries hanging around and not in containers just there on the
ground with the juices all flowing and sugar leaked out one bee spots
the goodness and gives out a shout and the others come running in
buzzing away and the people are startled and leap out the way no hedges
in Germany fallen or not freedom is freedom is freedom we've got but
the exit is overgrown part of the walls and though it's translucent
it's still eight feet tall and nobody listens to what they say for
deafness is blindness and gets in the way and the centre rest clearing
the benches are full the hedges still thorny and seem taller too the
exit is vanished this labyrinth zoo no exit signs. Miller Times. Is
Salmon Rushdie for real?
