Don't Love Me

Don't love me for the beauty of my face
It's fragile it won't last forever
Don't hold your breath before my grace
It's false and it your heart will sever
Don't love me for the magic of my eyes
Resist their mesmerizing power
Don't let them poison your sight
And make the wound deeper and sour
Don't love me for the sweetness of my flesh
Nor get addicted to its pleasures
Don't lust for passions roused in bed
For they can burn your soul forever
Don't waste your time to adore
Such things so transient and small
But find the most important thing of all
And that is our eternal soul
Search for the beauty that's inside
Don't let the good looks fool you
Sometimes the most appalling looks of all
May hide the prettiest of souls
