Walking among trees

the woods mumur of our forgotten dreams
we send them in our sleep
things we dare not know
So send to them to hide and keep
things we deny because they cause pain
disavowed, if only we could
explore them, and then let them lie
we might be who we should
Instead pines rustle in darkness
and beaches sway in the wind
to the knowledge of our forgotten emotions,
the ways we thought we'd sinned
then if when she wanders through she weeps
As among shadows she glimpses a fullfiled self
the one we sacrifice and then revile to see
Since we dared not venture our minds forrests
Having abandoned among the dusty branches
Who we wanted to be
