Autumn Mix

Variety of autumn:
chill, dull grey,
bright sunlight,
brilliant foliage display
soon to patterned,
colourful carpets
until decay;
rich harvest, colourful fruit
gathering, preserving
preparation.
migration,
hibernation,
fresh breeze,
gale-force storm,
homes, cosy and warm.
Beauty and death
fruit orange, red, black,
and dearth
of fresh green
– no longer seen;
nature's blaze before
retreating
safe under the earth
for winter's cold.

Nice IP response Rhiannon ,
Nice IP response Rhiannon , though it's still summer here. What is that curious orange (fruit?) in a great pile in the top left hand corner of your pic?

Your poem made me think of
Your poem made me think of seasons being like the flickering flame of a fire, rising orange bright and vigorous, then falling into charcoal, to rise again as the year turns, so the importance of wind in moving the weather. A lovely gathering of colours and happenings - fruit picking, leaves falling, birds coming
