Awe

How great is God who can create
design and beauty intricate,
who came and showed His nature kind,
and power to give sight to the blind …?
D’you really think there is no Master?
that there is no-one, nothing greater
than you and I? Deceiving lie.
There’s much we do no know of ‘Why?’
But that’s no reason to ignore
the evidence that is before
our eyes and ears, to think with care –
is it His laws you cannot bear?
In truth those who accept His rule
have found there’s freedom in that school
and peace and joy with truth and awe:
acknowledge God, revere, adore.
Tune: LM eg Church Triumphant by James Elliott, tune of ‘I know that my Redeemer liives’

intolerance
Rhiannon, my impressions are your work has become steadily more serious and deeper, revealing your insight, inner faith and inner strength study and knowledge. In my opinion from a purely “literature” viewpoint you have grown a lot.
Your poems and lyrics are beautiful and always constructive.
I hesitate but there are some things I feel a bit uncomfortable with, and intolerance with such as your repeated insistence on beliefs around Creation etc. What for? Has it ever occurred to you you might be wrong?
And hammering on ideas around “Sin” but I mean yes we are all human and fallible, but there really is much more to being Christian, much more definitive are the positive, faith, love and hope, i.e. as in Corinthians.
We should never lose our sense of humour, the result of that is insanity, believe me I've seen it.
Such as the priest asking the choir boy, “What must one do my son, to be absolved from sin?”, replied to by, “Please Father, one has to sin”.
All the best! See you! Tom

Kind words and well-wishes
Thanks for the kind words and well-wishes Rhiannon, and the same to you also! It does look as though you are quite reasonable about your religion it is not like a sect or something,
I have known fanatic fundamentalist groups they often cause great harm.
It might be I'm too frivolous about sin anyway it doesn't bother me much myself and I rather think in terms of obedience to God, i.e. the Truth and Word itself and not as a Creed.
Keep well! God bless! Tom
