Be Prepared!

[Continuing the hymn-for-Sundays series]

Though it isn’t the norm,
prepare for the storm
by building your house with foundations.

Though strong winds may blow,
and rain-floods may flow,
your home will survive wild conditions.

And those who have heard
Christ’s wisdom, God’s Word,
can choose to obey or discard them.

But those who obey,
when storms come their way
will stand firm whatever assails them.

But those who discard,
will find when life’s hard,
their principles tumble around them.

Speaking of Sunday school songs, "the wise man built his house upon the rock!"

I dont' think it was usually sung with Jesus's applicataion. I used to sing a thrid verse:

'And Jesus said we're wise if we will do (x3)
what he had said is good.
Then troubles may come, and people may make fun (x3)
but we'll be safe and strong.'

or

'And Jesus said, now listen to my words (x3)
and do the things I say'
And wherever  you walk (marching)
and whatever you talk (point to mouth) (2 lines x3_
remember what is good!
