Bugs, bugs, and more bugs

Bugs in my laptop
– the code’s got stuck;
bugs in my body
– I’m feeling ‘yuck’!
Bugs roam around
our world all day –
but many are helpful,
with a good part to play.
‘Bugs is small critters’,
the schoolboys say
– on tickly legs or wings
they’ll quickly scoot away.
True insect-bugs*
have mouths that extract
juice, but no tube
to coil up, retract.**
Who’s “caught the bug”
of an interest intense?
But spies’ bugs are catching
‘intelligence’!
* Hemiptera eg Aphids
** butterflies have a proboscis tube for sucking nectar, which is coiled up when not in use, but Hemiptera-bugs have piercing mouthparts that can fold up.
[IP: bugs]

Great
Even I sometimes forget bugs can be friendly. How we twist the language. Mention bugs or even bacteria and we all think of bad.
Loved the piece Rhiannon, it made me smile.
