Roaming Giants!

Long ago there roamed the land
dinosaurs so big and grand;
now they are no longer found,
but their bones are in the ground.

Been there long to fossilize,
but to many men’s surprise
often remnants of soft tissue,
raising the important issue

that they couldn’t have lain there
for a million years or more.
– What occurred of climate change
for decline of dinos strange?

Catastrophic rock formation –
flooding and volcanic action
engulfing many, triggered cause
of finished age of dinosaurs!

Fewer dinos roam around,
but tales of dragons now abound.
Are there any still that lurk
in jungle depth or deepest lake?

I have wondered about the Chinese festivals and dragons. They are friendly not fire and flames. Could the idea come from actual dinosaurs?

These days people take this giant meteorite impact theory for their extintion as gospel. I am glad you concider another theory, of volcanic eruption. There have been other such mass extintions in pre-history.

All the stories about dragons do seem to have their root in rare sightings of dinosaurs after Noah's flood. Reading Genesis 6-8 gives a picture of world-wide cataclysm ,  by flood and volcanic eruptions, and seismic movements, as are needed for rapid sedimentary rock formation and engulfing and fossilization of many animals.There are many 'fossil graveyards with many animals suddenly engulfted.

With the changes that followed these catastrophic changes the conditions do not seem to have suited the dinosaurs so well. (Noah would have had young, small dinosaurs on the ark!)
