[Continuing the hymn-for-Sundays series] 

Test every belief and proposition
against the bar of revelation –
the truth omniscient God revealed:
creeds may have lies, mistakes concealed.

Discernment as you hear or read,
so that you won’t on junk ‘food’ ‘feed’
that may do harm, and can’t do good,
distracting from the words of God.

Discrimination when we read
or hear, for careful thought we need
discerning evil, false guides shun,
and cling to truth life’s race to run.

If they do not speak according to this word, they have no light of dawn. Isaiah 8:2

soryy to be slow replying. My husband was preaching in a little church in mid-Wales again, a beautiful journey back across the hills this evening in evening light.
