THE PERIODIC TABLE
The Periodic Table,
what's it all about?
Atoms, elements and tables!
Let me help you sort it out.
An element is a substance,
a single atom on its own.
It cannot be divided,
Hydrogen is the commonest element known.
An atom has a nucleus,
with protons and neutrons inside.
The elements atomic number
is the number of protons that reside.
There are 92 natural elements,
an atomic number for every one.
Arrange them in numerical order
and the Periodic Table is done.
