Waking Up

Just a fragment of light
Posing through textile
Inviting me to embrace
Another demeaning day
The rumble of engines
Against beige bed sheets
Politely inquisite me
To go to the corner shop
Engulfed in culture
Sentiment unfailing
Evolution I had missed
Fervent kiss
From slumber to kitchen
Moreover with pride
I buried my sins
With it my lies
Reclusive and frightened
Although I have been enlightened
Spirit guides me with grace
I required conversation with a familiar face
I return to solitude
After my time travels
I am safe and humble
Next summer I won't stumble
Life is where dreams are made
I won't forget the person I was
Or disregard the woman I will become
Until I repent this horror, I am done

There is something heavy with
There is something heavy with sleep and regret here, someone waking to begin again, slowly and without strength, but with hopw. It didn't all make sense to me but I feel it.
