Disenchanted

The stars don't shine as bright, and I -I don't either. I am dulled
by what I find in the world is a new found lack of glory - an absence
of truth and passion.
Apathy in all its dreadful forms has somehow permeated into not only
our lives, but our beings. When did hunger, poverty, and oppression
become so easily overlooked? Where are those fighters of earlier years,
where are the dreamers?
Is it acceptable to live in Muncie with a house, two cars, two
children, a dog and a cat? My own middle class life is afforded by the
sweat and blood of those who are not even accorded the luxury of
democracy. America gives its citizens freedom, in every sense, social,
economical, and political - but at who's price?
