First love

You caught my eye and I was drawn.
I stood vulnerable hoping, waiting for you to look at me, to say one
word to me.
One word which could complete me. One word which could destroy
me.
You didn't say one word you just smiled, that ear to ear grin that
could warm our cold planet. I was no longer insignificant.
You put me on a pedestal and adored me.
You took me by the hand and led me from the shallow waters into the
deep ocean.
You opened up a once closed mind to a world of opportunity, and then
guided me through it.
You are my life teacher, my strength, my guidance, my laughter, my
passion, my soul, my missing link.
Your arms wrapped round me could hold back time. Your affection
elevates me.
In your arms you restore me. Your warm skin eases me as our bodies
connect like the missing piece to my puzzle.
With your tolerance you kept me calm.
With your smile you kept me lifted.
With your guidance you kept me real.
With your understanding you kept me sane.
With your mind you kept me hooked.
You kept me.
I greedily took from you more than you could give and you stayed. You
stayed knowing I would give back one day.
You have possessed me, my life teacher, my strength, my guidance, my
laughter, my passion, my soul, my missing link, my first love.
You caught my eye and I was drawn.
