Ny name is Sean Lawlor Nelson. I'm the father of three children and the author of 5 books read and sold around the world. I was born in Southern Oregon in circumstances of prosperity, and have lived most of my life here, but I've travelled America and much of the world: favorite places being Harnosand Sweden, Kona Hawaii, the north of Thailand... while in Thailand as a young professor, I was somehow severely poisoned with Arsenic and thus returned to Oregon, after which my health was unsound. I kept writing and publishing, but I found that for months on end sometimes, I'd need to mostly stay in my house.
And so, being already involved, Facebook and online literary communities became very important to me... an interactive connection with new and old friends, a way to discuss art and ideas, etc.. Reading and e-publishing poetry was especially important for me... and just as I appreciated the work of others, my own found American and international recognition over the years. I physically saw my children as often as I could, but my circumstances being somewhat disempowered, I found that the internet was a key link with them... a way to order gifts like Teletubby videos, or the hard-back libraries they each have, or the Maori shark-tooth necklace I got Bohdon off of Amazon . But I did go out with friends like Caitlin Kelly to see art shows and rose gardens, and on these occasions we'd take pictures and share them with friends and family online.
Now, although I have good private insurance, I felt my health situation was a life or death situation and that for irrational reasons, I wasn't receiving adequate care. One day I went to the hospital, barely able to breathe with other severe symptoms, and they told me nothing was wrong, sent me home with a mocking remark, and then tried to charge me for the ambulance bill(not having given me so much as an albuterol inhaler, having already collected many hundreds of thousands from my insurance company for the similar.) I became righteously indignant, even incensed, and I wrote letters and e-mails.... which connected with Senator Sanders and others, in surprising ways.
