Some say

"don't fear the reaper"

but I say

fear, fear the reaper

The reaper means no more pho soup with friends,

no more plum offices or career achievements,

no more silk shirts or gold tie-pins,

no more five course dinners;

no more reading Rumi; no more reading Frost

The reaper means no more staying in

no more going out,

no more myriad colored gardens,

no more shaded art museums;

no more leftover Thai,

no more take-out Chinese;
