On Restoring and Reforming the Sciences

Science is a word of prestige that is spoken of with a certain reverence, for we all know the importance of the discovery and organization of knowledge. For the future of the human species, it will mean the difference between using up our natural resources and going extinct as one more animal on this third rock from the sun, or colonizing many solar systems, as we've done much work to prepare for. But as we prepare for this colonization, there is a struggle between different kinds of scientists. I believe it is important to remember that science and scholarship have often been rebel arts; Copernicus and Galileo had to risk death to speak truth to power that the sun, nor the Earth, was the center of the solar system. I very much emphasize that science is a process of intellectual discovery; and it is accurate because conclusions are open to new testing and new science. When conclusions are not open to new science, as they often have not been, then science is not science, but Sciunc, just another religious cult.
