Abroad, the world's greatest military is stretched to the brink holding down two small desert countries(does it have anything to do with trying to fuse humanity, P.R., and modern war?)
Off the coast of Mexico, an oil-spill that can be seen from space is rushing toward shore... and the public still can't accept the necessity and wonder of nuclear energy(except for Russia, France, and China, which has over 300 plants functional or mostly in the works.) Thus, an officially "communist" economy is about to drastically out-perform numerous capitalist nations in one of the most essential areas of production.
In Thailand, factions wearing yellow and red shirts are locked in angry, riotous grid-lock (absolutely rejecting meaningful compromise.) They do have the advantage of a revered old king, which is missing from the similar situations in Jerusalem and Washington D.C.
In India, they still worship Krishna, Ganesha the elephant of wisdom and schools, and also a new God called Demakracy. Their untouchables have become a major political force, focusing largely on an "unprecedented" spree of statue building. This impresses the Obama administration, like all other things "unprecedented."
