'Bar'
Because the staff dealt with children all week, a certain amount of
self-discipline had to be maintained. However, at the only local bar,
where off-duty staff congregated on Saturday nights, discipline went
out the window.
On walking into the small, typically American bar, a piece of birthday
cake flew in front of me, narrowly missing my head, splatting against a
Budweiser poster. 'Sweet Caroline' ('oh, oh, oh') was chorusing. My
friend's face was attached to that of one of the dining-room staff. A
female body surfed across the heaving mass of people.
I gladly joined in.
