Home At Last!
Dedicated to my late Mum:

Dear Diary Moment.
Black and White
days seem so far,
locked away just
a photo to recall.
As the Humming Bird dips
its elegant – long beak,
to taste sweet nectar from
brightly coloured blooms,
so I inquisitive and wrinkled
with age; hark back with
unclear reverie...like an old
movie played back in reverse,
I...a dream walker hear her voice calling,
see her face in visions; remember when no
thoughts or cares occupied my mind...just
the ticking of a clock and a faint cry of new life.
Who was I that slumbered long, beneath Sun –
Moon and Stars? Made drowsy by the fragrance
of Roses, magic she weaved within her smile,
feeling her touch like fluttering of butterfly wings;
scarcely aroused was I back then...yet nevertheless,
all my dreams and aspirations stem from this one
moment fixed in time, as she held me in her arms,
on my very first day in our own back yard...Home At Last!
