Dolly's Surprise

Jess decided, "He would go pay Dolly a visit"! He went to the kitchen
door, and
said mama, "Do you care if I go see Dolly"? Angel asked him, "How long
will you
be gone"? He replied, "not long mama"!

She said honey, "don't you think you have been through enough for one
day"? Jess
replied, "mama this is something that can't wait it is very important"!
Angel nodded
her head and said, Ok, "Jess if you insist"!

Dolly took one last look at the cabin before closing the door. She
stepped out on to
the porch, and looked around. She mumbled, "This place has got
good
possibilities"!

I could plant a nice garden over by the fence. There is a lot of room
for flowers. She
smiled to herself, as she walked through the yard.

Dolly said aloud, "I suppose I will bury Will up there on the hill". I
always did
think that would make a lovely cemetery. I wonder if I can get Jess,
and Jay to dig
him a grave. She thought, "I sure hope they haven't already started
digging"!

I best be getting back to Angel house, and take care of things. She
muttered, "How
odd that sounds"!

Jess saw, Dolly standing in the yard. He thought, "I sure hope she's in
a better
mood". He called out to her, "Dolly"!

Dolly turned, and walked over to Jess! He yelled, "Dolly, are you ok"?
She hugged
him, and replied, "Yes"! I don't know what made me act that way son.
She said, "I
was so shocked, I didn't know what to do. Jess, "would you please you
forgive me
the way I treated you"?

Don't worry about it Dolly I understand" Jess, responded!

Dolly said, "thank you for coming to check on me"! Dolly, "we need to
talk," Jess,
stated! She told him, "let's do that on our way back to the house". I
too have some
things, I need to discuss with your mama.

Jess said Dolly, "I think we should talk about this now it is very
important". Jess
reach in his pocket, and handed her the deed. Dolly asked, "you already
no about
the house being your mama's"?

Jess just sort of stared at her, when she made the statement. He
thought, "She did
know all this time, and didn't say anything"! But he decided to let her
finish!

Dolly looked down at what she thought was the letter. She asked, "Did,
Will give
you this Jess before he passed on"? "Jess, Please believe me"? I was
coming back to
the house to discuss it with your folks!

Jess ignored her and said, "Dolly I think you should read the
document".

Dolly read the document; she looked at Jess! "What a surprise", she
grinned.
She said, "I can't believe Will, did all this for me". I would have
never dream he
cared!

Jess cut her off he said, "Dolly, he told me to tell you, he loved
you"! Those were
the last words I heard him say!

Dolly began to cry! She said between sobs, "I guess he really did love
me". Oh, Jess
all these years I thought, "He didn't care". She looked at the cabin,
and thought, "he
really did fix it up all for me"!

Jess interrupted her thoughts, "you are right, I know about the house"!
He told her
exactly what, Will had told him.

Jess said before I forget, "he wanted you to have this too". He handed
her a roll of
money. Dolly couldn't believe her eyes as she took the money out of
Jess's hand.

Dolly muttered, "I wish we could have been as honest as you Jess". Jess
replied by
saying, "it's not to late Dolly". She grabbed him around the shoulders,
and said,
"Your right Jess, lets go talk to your mama".

Jess smiled, and replied "I'm ready whenever you are Mrs. Reed".
