STALK ON.
sneak
My tedious existence -
was boring, safe and clean.
So I advertised for stalkers -
in a contact magazine.
I requested any gender.
With no limits set on age.
I was met with disappointment -
as I scanned the glossy page.
Not one unbalanced person -
had bothered to reply!
My optimistic outlook -
took shelter in a sigh.
But then it dawned upon me.
How foolish I had been.
Stalkers lurk in shadows -
and are very rarely seen.
With a new found optimism -
I left my squalid flat.
I found an open field,
and openly I sat.
Waiting for a stalker.
Someone who'd care for me.
One hour passed in seconds,
as two gave in to three.
My eventual surrender -
was encouraged by the rain.
Awash in disappointment,
like a needle to a vain.
I stumbled home to shower.
To strip myself of grime.
Aware it could be watching,
I took my precious time.
