Thoughts on the Death of L'Wren Scott

At times like this,
I wonder why we're
meant to just accept life
as a wonderful gift to
be enjoyed, when
often, it doesn't feel
like a gift at all - or if
it is, one of those you
get and wish the giver
had taken just a bit more
care in the choosing,
paid a little more
attention.
Who says it has to
be enjoyed? Is that
an order? Does having
everything that life can
offer guarantee that it
will be a ball - something
so fantastic it's impossible
to imagine never having
it at all?
Sometimes, it's just
too much. It's better
off without. Then drink,
or drugs, or sleep are
always there to block
it out, in lieu of a
more permanent
solution.
Nothing guarantees.
Nothing - not fame or
fortune, talent. Not having
the entire world there at
your feet, wearing your
designs, dancing
to your tune.
Nothing.
