The Time: Daina

As per the last story(Coming Out: Lina): this takes place the next
day. I woke up to find that it was early afternoon. I did the usual
activities one does after waking up - eating, washing, clothing, etc.
Lina gave me a hug and asked if she could be permitted to "enlighten"
others as she "saw fit". I agreed. She informed me that Daina would be
arriving around two o'clockish and that we needed ice for drinks. I
left for the store knowing that when I returned Daina might know also.
I would pay a million dollars to go back to that moment and stay to
hear their conversation?how Lina brought it up?how it was received,
etc. I returned with the ice and saw that Daina had arrived. We mixed a
few drinks (white Russians if I'm not mistaken) and went out to the
chairs by the waterside (Lina was in the bathroom changing). We watched
the children swim and talked about the usual - school, friends, jokes,
etc. We sat in awkward silence for a moment then, out of nowhere, Daina
says, "you know I know, right?" (with a smile on her face - she thought
she had one on me!). I smiled and said, "of course I know" (I really
didn't?I just wanted to lighten the moment). Daina responded with, "oh,
you little frigger!" and a laugh.

She proceeded to tell me that she'll always love me and that she's
very proud of me.

I'll always remember that day. I love you Daina.

Smile like you've never cried; hug like you wish you were held.
